Mid-week Glow Up

Sneakers

Hey loves, I don’t know about you, but I am becoming a certified sneakerhead. Don’t get me wrong I will never abandon my heels:-😊, but during the lockdown and not wearing any work clothes my whole mood changed when it came to footwear. I am pretty sure if I was still working from home it would be sneakers for me permanently. I have always had a passion for sneakers and usually would buy a new pair once a year, not anymore. More sneaker boxes have arrived on my doorstep than clothes or bags. I have always had a thing for sneakers usually for just functionality to wear with athlete wear or jeans. Over the past couple of years, I started to stretch my imagination and started wearing them with slacks, dresses, skirts, and dare I say it, an entire pants suit. The design has been stretched over the last years to bring to light more sneakers that are considered lifestyle and fewer gym shoes. I was introduced to fila and K-Swiss during my adolescent years. Then I started to gravitate to Nike. Well as we know everything old comes back again when it comes to fashion. Those brands of yesteryears are trying to make a name for themselves with this generation. Nike and Adidas will always hold a place in my heart, but New Balance is coming for the number 1 spot. With that being said here are some of the hottest sneakers this season.

Nike

Nike will always be a top-notch sneaker brand. It would be extremely hard to remember a time before Nike wore the crown. There Jordan brand will forever reign supreme from generation to generation. Here are my picks for some other notable styles they have created.

New Balance

This is becoming one of my favorite brands. They have been known in the fitness world for their running and walking sneakers. Their lifestyle category is bringing more of a retro look to an everyday sneaker and I am here for it. The below 574 and 327 are making a name for the brand.

Adidas

Adidas’s popularity grew to new heights when they broke in top celebrities to create their line. It was only right if they plan to compete with the likes of Nike. Kanye, fashion designer Jeremy Scott and Pharrell Williams all have a line with the company that was made famous for their shell toe classic sneaker worn by Run D MC.

Puma

Puma has changed directions by bringing onboard celebrity stylist June Ambrose to help revamp their line. Her classic asthetic and fashionable eye is moving the bar in the right direction.

Honorable Mention

The classic look of Converse Chuck Taylors or Vans will always be classic and on-trend for years to come.
